Liver Transplantation

Liver Transplantation

For patients who have made the decision for liver transplantation, the necessary organ should primarily come from organs donated after brain death. However, in cases where the demand cannot be met through deceased donations, live donor transplants can be performed from relatives up to the fourth degree, as in other types of transplants. Up to 70% of the liver of completely healthy individuals selected as live donors can be removed for transplantation.

Patients with acute liver failure, liver tumors within the criteria for liver transplantation, metabolic diseases, and chronic liver diseases (cirrhosis) are all candidates for liver transplantation treatment.
